Downhole tooling with full heat-lot traceability
A procurement team needed corrosion-resistant downhole components with mechanical-property certs for a harsh-environment project. We forged for grain flow, heat-treated and NDT-tested in-house with 100% traceability.

Background
A procurement team sourcing for a harsh-environment downhole project needed corrosion-resistant components that could survive high pressure and aggressive media — and that came with the mechanical-property documentation their end client demanded.
The challenge
Downhole hardware must combine strength, corrosion resistance and proven integrity. Cast or bar-stock parts were not enough; the customer needed forged grain flow, controlled heat treatment and non-destructive testing, all traceable back to the material heat lot.
Our approach
- 1
Closed-die forged the components for favourable grain flow and mechanical strength.
- 2
Quench-and-temper heat treatment performed in-house for controlled, documented properties.
- 3
CNC-finished critical sealing and connection features to drawing tolerance.
- 4
Ultrasonic NDT on every part, with results tied to each heat lot.
Quality & inspection
Every component is 100% heat-lot traceable with NDT and mechanical-property certification, meeting the project's sour-service material requirements.
